Garden Fresh Culinary

In 2019, SLP SEEDS wanted to try a new kind of cooking class with an emphasis on using fresh vegetables from the garden. Out of that, Garden Fresh Culinary Program was created. The class would start out in the garden with participants harvesting the produce, then they would bring it inside and learn how to plan, prepare and enjoy seasonal, plant-based dishes. A retired chef would show the participants different ways to prepare one vegetable, and a nutritionist would talk about the benefits that the selected produce has for people. After they were done preparing the dishes, everyone would sit and enjoy the meal together. Participants were then able to bring leftover fresh harvest or leftovers home with them to continue practicing. 

The 2019 pilot season was wonderful and we hope that this program will be able to return in 2021!
